திட்டமிட்ட குற்றச் செயல்களுடன் தொடர்புடைய நபர் ஒருவருக்கு சட்டவிரோதமான முறையில் கடவுச்சீட்டு (Passport) ஒன்றை தயாரித்து வழங்குவதற்கு உடந்தையாக இருந்து நடவடிக்கை எடுத்த குற்றச்சாட்டின் பேரில், இலங்கை குடிவரவு மற்றும் குடியகல்வு திணைக்களத்தின் உதவி கட்டுப்பாட்டாளர் ஒருவர் குற்றப் புலனாய்வுத் திணைக்கள (CID) அதிகாரிகளால் இன்று (18) கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

சட்டவிரோத ஆவணங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி திட்டமிட்ட குற்றக் கும்பலைச் சேர்ந்த நபருக்கு போலி கடவுச்சீட்டு பெற்றுக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டமை தொடர்பில் குற்றப் புலனாய்வுத் திணைக்களத்தின் விசேட விசாரணைப் பிரிவு விரிவான விசாரணைகளை முன்னெடுத்து வந்தது. விசாரணைகளின் அடிப்படையில் திரட்டப்பட்ட ஆதாரங்களின்படி, குடிவரவு திணைக்களத்தின் உயர் பதவியிலுள்ள குறித்த உதவி கட்டுப்பாட்டாளரே இதற்கு நேரடி ஒத்துழைப்பு வழங்கியுள்ளார் என்பது கண்டறியப்பட்டு இன்று அவர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார். சந்தேகநபரான அதிகாரி மேலதிக வாக்குமூலப் பதிவுகளின் பின்னர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஆஜர்படுத்தப்படவுள்ளதுடன், குற்றப் புலனாய்வுத் திணைக்கள அதிகாரிகள் தொடர் விசாரணைகளை முன்னெடுத்து வருகின்றனர்.

අපරාධ කල්ලි සාමාජිකයෙකුට නීතිවිරෝධී අයුරින් ගුවන් ගමන් බලපත්‍රයක් නිකුත් කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ විශේෂ විමර්ශන ඒකකය මඟින් දීර්ඝ කාලීන පරීක්ෂණයක් සිදුකරන ලදී. එම විමර්ශනවලදී අනාවරණය වූ කරුණු මත පදනම්ව ආගමන විගමන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ මෙම උසස් නිලධාරියා සෘජුවම ඊට සම්බන්ධ වී ඇති බවට තහවුරු වීමත් සමඟ ඔහු මෙලෙස අත්අඩංගුවට පත්ව ඇත. සැකකාර සහකාර පාලකවරයාගෙන් ප්‍රකාශ සටහන් කරගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත අතර සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වැඩිදුර පරීක්ෂණ ක්‍රියාත්මක වේ.

Assistant Controller of Immigration and Emigration Arrested by CID for Illegally Issuing Passport to Organized Criminal

An Assistant Controller of the Department of Immigration and Emigration was arrested today (18) by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on charges of facilitating the fraudulent issuance of an official passport to an individual linked to organized crime syndicates.

The special investigations unit of the Criminal Investigation Department launched an inquiry into the illicit generation and processing of identity documentation used to obtain a travel passport for a high-profile organized criminal. Evidence gathered during the investigation directly implicated the senior immigration official in abusing institutional protocols to process the document. Following his apprehension, the suspect is being interrogated by CID detectives prior to being produced before the magistrate's court, with comprehensive investigations actively continuing.
